South America on globe

It’s the beginning of the end of summer 2014 and instead of letting the lack of sunshine that winter promises get us down, here at Insuremyrentalcar.com we’re thinking ahead. If winter weather is what you love then there is plenty for you to look forward to in the coming months, however if you want to chase the sun we thought we would start your ball rolling.

Luckily here in America we’re never too far from the sun. The Southern Hemisphere offering opposite seasons to ours is fortunately just below us in neighbouring countries in Central and Southern America.

We’ll provide you with guides to some of the best road trip routes encompassing both the most famous and lesser known local sights and attractions through Central and Southern America. Hopefully this will give you some good ideas to get the best out of your vacation.

If you need some time to plan ahead to get cheaper flights as well as your cheap rental car insurance, Central American countries boast unbelievable weather in the middle of their dry season (December to March). Countries such as Costa Rica, Honduras and Panama host some of the most bio diverse rainforests accompanied by great weather and very friendly locals who love to show off their country and everything it has to offer.

If you just can’t wait, Southern South America has their dry season from October to April. October to December has great weather in countries such as Uruguay, Chile or Argentina when it is slightly cooler. Likewise at the end of the dry season March to June is a great time to travel to make the most of the weather. There is plenty to do and try as well, Argentina is renowned for the best steaks in the world, while Chile is a great cultural experience with the memorable brightly colored houses and brilliant seafood. Uruguay is South America’s 2nd smallest country and is often overlooked but they have a great landscape and with very liberal social laws they are at the forefront of modern politics.

Central South America’s best months are April to September and there is certainly no shortage of places to visit. How about taking in the amazing Salt Flats in Bolivia, walking the trail to Machu Picchu in Peru, visiting Darwin’s inspiration for evolution the Galapagos Islands in Ecuador, or soak up the atmosphere in Brazil home to the recent Soccer World Cup and the Olympics 2106.

Whether you just want to soak up the rays on some of the best beaches in the world, or get your hands dirty exploring and really getting to know the vibrant and historic cultures, you’ll never be stuck for things to do, see or people to talk to.

Hopefully this will be the start of your vacation inspiration and some of the other upcoming blogs can give you even more ideas to chase the sun and enjoy these amazing countries!

In the meantime enjoy the rest of your summer, and don’t let winter weather get you down!
