Insurance Information Institute Video Tips

Written by  Tuesday, 18 February 2014 16:57

The Insurance Information Institute have a very useful video outlining the considerations that need to be made when weighing up the level of cover you require and the level of liability you are willing to accept when renting a car.

The rental car industry is often a difficult beast to navigate. Consumers are often blinded by cheap rates and fall victim to misdirection when it comes to understanding what they are and aren’t liable for should something happen to their rental vehicle. The video below gives good detail on how to assess what insurance you require before renting a car – but be sure to read on as the Rental Insurance market has changed since this video was produced!

The video above was uploaded back in 2009 and since then the options available to you when insuring your rental vehicle have evolved.

It’s still the case that your personal car insurance policy and/or credit card may provide a level of cover for car rental so it’s always a good idea to check what level of liability you are covered for before purchasing additional cover.  However what has changed is the options open to you should you choose to buy more comprehensive insurance or cover the remaining deductible!

Insuremyrentlacar.com offer daily, single trip and annual policies which can cover the deductible, loss damage waiver, personal accident and personal belongings* for as little as $7.99 per day! What’s more, our cover is available to US and Non US residents alike! So rather than shelling out $’s for insurance at the rental counter that still leaves you with a large deductible, visit Insuremyrentalcar.com for an instant quote to see how much you could save!
